Welcome
Dear Colleagues,
The Annual Meeting of the German Society of Biomaterials will take place at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital from Wednesday, September 24, until Saturday, September 26, 2026. Additionally, a biofabrication workshop will be organized in collaboration with the YFS the day before the congress, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
I cordially invite you to attend this important meeting in Aachen. Share exciting new results of your research in the field. Enjoy interacting with our active community, getting inspired by new ideas, cherishing friendships with dear old colleagues, and forming new collaborations.
We look forward to four plenary talks, which will be given by renowned colleagues on exciting topics. This year, we will focus on the following scientific topics: biofabrication, extracellular matrix substitutes, magnetic, acoustic, and electrical tools in tissue engineering, spheroids and organoids, in vitro models, surface functionalization and coatings, ceramics and bioglasses, advanced polymeric biomaterials, and drug delivery. However, contributions on additional topics related to biomaterials are, of course, very welcome.
In the evenings during the annual meeting, after the scientific program, enjoy the beautiful city of Aachen with its narrow streets, historic buildings, and lovely restaurants. In this context, our congress dinner will be held at a unique restaurant called "La Fabrik" on Friday, September 25, 2026.
My team and I look forward to seeing you in Aachen at the end of September 2026!
Best regards,
Horst Fischer.
